Trafffic Calming Open House - June 24

Earlier in the year the county held 2 public open houses, along with an online questionnaire to begin their public engagement of the upcoming traffic calming measures for the Glen Allan community. Following this up in May there were 2 stakeholder input sessions where a smaller group was asked to give more detailed feedback and discussion on what some of the priorities and goals for the calming should be. Bouncy Fun!

Image
Thank you to the Strathcona County Information and Volunteer Centre (IVC) for bringing bouncy castles to Gilmore Park on Saturday, June 6. This community pop-up event was another great example of why Strathcona County is a great place to live, work and play!  The sun was shining with community shining the brightest as neighbours had an opportunity to connect with one another at a local gathering spot. IVC will be at the Colchester Family Fun Day Saturday, June 13 from 3-7pm for more bouncy fun.  Watch for IVC at various locations throughout the summer! www.ivcstrathcona.org For more resources and opportunities to create connections with neighbours visit www.cultivatingcommunities.net

Play It Forward

Image
Strathcona County Parent Link Centre is coming to Gilmore Park Wednesday, June 3rd from 5-7pm to kick-off the Play it Forward Program with a BBQ celebration.   Each year they leave a bucket of sand toys at parks around Strathcona County for the summer.  As residents it is our job to care for the toys and ensure our neighbourhood is a better place to play. We encourage everyone to come out and connect with neighbours at this fun, free, family-friendly event!
