Holiday Spirit Winners!

Congratulations to 34 Galveston Avenue winner of the Holiday Spirit prize draw! 🎉 Thank you to Pasta Pantry for the gift card donation and to our 9 amazing volunteers for delivering over 120 notes to homes that were Merry & Bright 🙏 We also added a Judges Choice prize of movie passes which will go to 35 Glenbrook Blvd. 🍿 It's amazing how many beautifully decorated homes there are in Glen Allan. Our neighbourhood definitely has holiday spirit!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone 🎄

Show your Holiday Spirit! Share the home address of decorated homes in Glen Allan and they will be entered to win a $50 Pasta Pantry gift card. Caroling Kits are available! Connect and sing with neighbours on your block or cul-de-sac around a warm fire or on the steps of homes in your area. You pick the date, time and location that works best for you and your neighbours. To help you spread good tidings, caroling kits are available in two Glen Allan Little Libraries. Two kits will be in the Gilmore Park Little Library and two kits will be in the Little Library at 26 Glacier Crescent. Caroling kits include song books, bells and helpful tips for caroling in our neighbourhood. When you are finished with the kit please return it to the Little Library and leave a note telling us about the merriment!!

Jack-o-Lantern Walk & Haunted Forest

Back by popular demand! Community members are hosting a Jack-o-Lantern Walk and Haunted Forest in Gilmore Park on   Saturday, September 29 from 6:00-9:00PM!! Help light up the path by bringing your carved pumpkin(s), with a battery powered tea light to Gilmore Park between 5:00-6:00PM. Pumpkins can be picked up between 9:00-9:30PM. Prizes will be awarded for the most spooktacular Jack-o-Lanterns.  Also, if you dare, enter the Haunted Forest. 6:00-7:00PM is less scary and 7:00-9:00PM is guaranteed to be spooktacular thanks to our youth volunteers. Donations will be collected for the Food Bank. 

Indigenous Games - September 30

On September 30 from 6-7pm we invite Glen Allan neighbours to come together and acknowledge the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation in Gilmore Park (15 Gilmore Avenue, Sherwood Park) It will be a time for learning, reflection and connection. Two of our Inuit and Metis neighbours will be leading the activities.  Children and families are invited to come and play Indigenous games. If you have one, please wear an orange shirt. Car Show & Movie Night - September 17

The Gilmore Park Community League is hosting a neighbour gathering in and beside Gilmore Park on Saturday, September 17! Join us for a Car Show from 5-7PM on Gilmore Avenue. Hot dogs and vegetable samosas will be available for $3. We are thrilled that the funky CommuniTEA Infusion Van is coming out to serve beverages! From 7-8PM there will be obstacle races for remote control cars and dinky cars. Come play in Gilmore Park and enjoy a fire performance from local Glen Allan talent! From 8-10PM a movie will be played in the park. Bring your chairs and warm blankets. Garden Workshop - July 26

The Gilmore Park Community Garden Group is pleased to announce they have a speaker lined up for   July 26, 2022 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the gardens . Claudia Bolli from Wild Green Garden Consulting will be giving a talk on   Garden Smarter, not Harder. " Hi, my name is Claudia Bolli and I'm the owner of Wild Green Garden Consulting in Edmonton, Alberta. I'm a nature lover, gardener and teacher. My education includes a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma in Biological Sciences, a Permaculture Design Certificate, Organic Master Gardener training, Master Naturalist training, numerous gardening courses, and workshops from The Urban Farmer and other inspiring teachers. My business activities include  garden design  with a focus on natural and edible landscapes,  site consultations , and  workshops . My own small yard is an evolving, dynamic landscape with native plants, edible perennials, fruit trees and vegetable beds with mostly rainwat

Annual Meeting - June 15

Come together with neighbours to share a meal, celebrate residents who have lived in the neighbourhood for 50 years and talk about ideas for our neighbourhood! Due to rainy weather we will be gathering at Nitzza's Pizza on Graham Road Wednesday, June 15 from 6-8pm. Thank you to Councillor Anderson for supporting the pizza cost for those in attendance!

Pitch In Join your neighbours and clean-up a park in Glen Allan on  Saturday, May 14. Time of day is flexible and would be about a one-hour time commitment You pick the park... Gilmore Park Greengrove Park Granville Park Garland Park Or another area of Glen Allan that you think needs some love. If you are able to participate, please complete this  FORM  so we know where to send the County to collect filled bags.
