Who is Merry & Bright in Glen Allan? There are 3 ways to nominate a neighbour who demonstrates holiday spirit. 1 - Nominate a neighbour whose house decorations are Merry & Bright! 2 - Nominate a neighbour 18 & under who has made a Merry & Bright gingerbread house! 3 - Nominate a neighbour of any age who makes your life Merry & Bright by lending a helping hand! Share a picture and/or story on our  Facebook group  or email gilmorepark@live.com  by December 22 . Nominee's will be entered to win a $50  Pasta Pantry  gift card! Winners will be announced on gilmorepark.ca on December 23.

Haunted Forest & Jack-O-Lantern Walk - October 28

This year 16 youth are taking the lead to bring a Haunted Forest and Jack-O-Lantern Walk to Gilmore Park on   Saturday, October 28 . Here is how you can help make this neighbourhood event a scary success: Line the path with your Jack-O-Lantern creations  -  drop-off is starting at 5PM, pick-up is at 9PM, register your pumpkins to win prizes. Volunteer your time  or supplies  -  please use this   LINK  to sign up.  Bring your neighbours, friends and family  -  6-7PM is a less scary walk through the Haunted Forest and 7:30-9PM is for the brave. We are pleased to announce that   Midnight Mysteries Radio   will be recording an podcast at the event, plus   The Midnight Sprinkles Bespoke Bakery   will be selling baked goods. There will also be face painting and ghostly gardens to explore! This is a free event thanks to the contributions of Glen Allan residents.   Donations will be collected for the Strathcona County Food Bank. 

Gilmore Park Potluck & Movie Night - September 9

On Saturday, September 9 the Gilmore Park Community League is hosting a potluck dinner, DVD swap and movie night!! From 6-8PM bring your favourite family dish and drinks to Gilmore Park. Please label dishes with your name and ingredients for food sensitivities. Click here to share what you plan to bring! From 8-10PM Ratatouille will be played under the stars! Please bring chairs and warm blankets. Popcorn will be available!  Throughout the evening a table will be set-up for a DVD swap. Bring and/or take DVDs that might interest you!   Come connect with your Glen Allan neighbours!

10 Fun Facts About The Gilmore Park Playground

To celebrate the 10 th  anniversary of the Gilmore Park Playground Revitalization we have compiled 10 fun facts!! #1 The balance beam in Gilmore Park was incorporated in the playground design at the request of neighbourhood kids who wanted to play the game grounders! #2 The 'branch' under the slide in Gilmore Park feels like a branch! When the playground was designed 10 years ago it was intentional to incorporate features for the senses. #3 Shade in Gilmore Park was a priority identified by the community. This is why we have a gazebo, more trees, and tall structures that provide shaded places to play and gather! #4 Our community prioritized building a playground for a wider age range (previously equipment was only for ages 5-12). Community Garden Open House - July 22

Gilmore Park Community Gardens is having an event : (weather permitting) OPEN HOUSE from 2 - 4 pm on Saturday 22nd of July 2023.                  We wish to invite the neighbours in Gilmore Park and show them, and tell them about our gardens, we also want to show them the area where we have planted the cherry trees and the edible fruit bushes,  which are near the treed area,  available for picking once they are bearing more fruit. We have over 20 fruit bushes. and 2 trees. A small sample of seeds will be available for visitors while stock last.  Please stop by and talk to us, and of course our Garden club is open for all neighbours on a first come first serve basis. Pizza in the Park & Annual Meeting - June 7

Come for free pizza and great community conversation on Wednesday June 7 from 5:30-7:30PM in Gilmore Park! Pizza & drinks will be first come first serve from 5:30-6:00PM, please bring a lawn chair. We will meet at the Community Garden. In the case of bad weather we will meet at Sherwood Pizza on Graham Road. The Gilmore Park Community League Annual General Meeting will take place from 6:00-6:30PM. Connection is what makes our community great!
