Newsletter Project Coordinator

The Gilmore Park Community League (GPCL) is looking for a Glen Allan resident to assist with a neighbourhood newsletter project. The Newsletter Project Coordinator, will be responsible for compiling content, seeking business support, layout design, printing, and delivery of newsletters. 

This is a one-month project to be completed by May 1, 2024. The Coordinator will be compensated with an honorarium of up to $500. The time commitment is 15-20 hours. Youth ages 16-24 are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan a timeline for completion of project tasks 

  • Communication with contacts (businesses, volunteers, suppliers & neighbours)

  • Draft and deliver letters to potential business supporters

  • Research printing and delivery costs within budget

  • Compile newsletter content with the help of volunteers 

  • Create an engaging and visually appealing newsletter layout

  • Bundle newsletters for Canada Post delivery

  • Hand deliver newsletters outside of Canada Post delivery zones

Requirements:

  • Glen Allan resident

  • Age 16+

  • Comfortable using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Canva, or other platforms

  • Work from home on your own device

  • Time management skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
